The benefits of using a freelancer – sales went up more than 100%!

Here’s a story all about how, my life got flipped, turned upside-down… oh whoops no sorry, wrong story! What we actually have below is how a freelancer – a content marketer and expert in SEO – was able to help a business achieve more than double their previous years’ sales over a period of 12 months.

The story from Cherie Hawkins at Project Market goes a bit like this:

“Last year, in December 2017, I was put in touch with a local automotive business who wanted to increase their tow bar sales. Phase one kicked in where the content of the tow bar page was written by using keyword research and recommended keywords used throughout the copy – an extremely critical part of the whole process.

The next step was to set up a Google Adwords campaign attracting those in the area who wanted a tow bar installation. Setting a budget of just $5.00 per day got the paid advertising ‘ball rolling’ so to speak done.

And the results?

We’re all pleased to say - that’s me, the automotive team and the automotive business owner -   that since December 2017 to May 2018 sales currently stand at 92, in comparison to 43 sales for the whole of last year!

That means we’re currently over 100% up on year-to-date sales which feels fantastic. How’s that for return on investment?

Month-on-month (and if you count January out because practically everyone is on holiday) that’s 23 sales a month.

The client let me know that in March 2018 alone they got 80 calls with 37 tow bars fitted. And recently I have been told that the Adwords campaign is still going strong. They also love the fact they get more quotes requested via email with specific vehicle and tow information included - because as we all know one tow bar is not like the other!

Pretty good financial benefit stuff don’t you think?

Now that you can see an example of the financial benefits - looks talk about the sometimes silent benefits of using a freelancer!

●     Most freelancers have worked in some sort of corporate, council or senior management position and held very responsible roles.  We choose this freelance lifestyle because we know we have what it takes to deliver results and we’re prepared to go above and beyond to hit key objectives for our clients.
●     Our reputation relies on how good of a job we do – because we’re on our own here when it comes to accountability. So believe you me, we sweat buckets at times to get it right.
●     We don’t think like an average employee (and that’s being very generalised as most employees are working very hard for their employers) but what I mean is that we have to think outside the box, inside the box and any other phrase you want to throw in there that delivers on expectations.
●     We all know lots of other amazing freelancers who are amazing at their work and when you need a referral to a specific expert - we get extremely excited to tell you about them. That means all that hard ground work has been done for you
I think that’s about all I can say for now, but hand on heart if you want a great freelancer all you have to do is find the right fit and they’ll look after you until the cows come home!
P.S. The automotive business is Elite Automotive Repairs, so if you need proof of the above, or a tow bar installed, I’m sure they’d be happy to help!“
